Hollis Booker
Hollis John Booker was born June 16, 1925 in Waterville, the son of John L. and Wilma (Dameron) Booker.
He attended Clinton High School and after graduating proudly served in the US Navy as a sea plane radio man in the Pacific during World War II, picking up downed pilots and seaman from destroyed naval ships.
On May 10, 1946 he married Eilene Nason and shortly after started their family. He raised his family out on Booker’s Corner. He and Eilene had five sons: Sherwood, Timothy, Glenn, Steven and Jeffrey, and one daughter, Patricia Booker Braley.
He was employed for many years by Maine Central Railroad and later purchased and operated a dairy farm with Eilene and their children. He built Booker's mobile Home Park, several homes and was a member of the Carpenter's Local #320.
Hollis enjoyed RVing, camping, gardening, carpentry and exercised his creative talents by painting with oil paints.
He died August 27, 2015.
