Donald Dickey

Seaman 1st Class Donald Irwin Dickey enlisted in the Navy July 19, 1944. His brothers both also joined the service: Everett (Army) in World War II, and Ralph (Army) in the Korean Conflict. 

Donald was stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Antietam in the Pacific Theater traveling to Pearl Harbor, the Pacific Islands, Japan, and China. 

He was discharged June 26, 1946. Upon discharge he married his sweetheart, Shirley Crosby, on August 15, 1948. They raised their children, Rebecca, Randy, and Susan, in Clinton.
