Frederick Nelson

Private First Class Fred Nelson was an Army veteran of World War II, having served from April 1941 to November 1945 in the Pacific Theater of War, principally in the Aleutian Islands. 

Fred was born in Macon County, Georgia, the adopted son of Theodore and Estelle Nelson. 

He married Carleen Libby on September 1st, 1951 and moved to Clinton about 1957. 

He was widely-traveled, having visited all 50 of the United States and 12 foreign countries. Fred retired from Ethan Allen Inc. in Burnham in 1985. 

He died on his 44th wedding anniversary on September 1st, 1995.
