Laurence Decker
Born in 1909 to Lewellyn and Effie Decker, Lieutenant Colonel Laurence Franklin Decker enlisted in the Engineer Corps November 25, 1940 and was discharged December 31, 1945.
After the passing of his first wife Phyllis Whitman, daughter of Franz Whitman, he married Velma A. Pushor. Velma brought two children into the marriage, Betty and Leslie.
Betty wanted to keep her father’s last name, but Laurence adopted Velma’s son Leslie, and together they adopted a son Bobby.
Laurence died in July, 1987 at the age of 78.
