Omar McKenney
Born Feb 3, 1920, Omar McKenney was the son of Henry and Mae McKenney. He graduated from Clinton High School, Class of 1941, and then enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
On April 9, 1942, General Douglas MacArthur's infantry, in which he was a member, was captured by the Japanese at the surrender of Bataan. He was taken with a large toop of Americans on the Death March to a prison camp, where he died on May 23, 1942.
The McKenney in the American Legion “Willett-McKenney Post 186” was in honor of Omar McKenney.
