Lindell Weymouth
Lindell Weymouth was born in Clinton, Maine on December 1, 1921, the youngest of six children born to Jerome and Ada (Nason) Weymouth. His siblings were Carla, Norris, Harold, Kenneth, and George.
He attended Clinton schools until 1940, when he married Jerry, with whom he would spend the next 70 years. He began working at his brother’s grocery store in Camden, Maine, and later worked at Bath Iron Works as a welder, a trade he loved.
During World War II, Lindell joined the Navy, serving on a destroyer. He reached Japan as the war was ending. He was discharged on February 13th, 1946.
He returned home to his wife and two sons, Timmy and Terry. They would welcome their third son, Stephen, in 1949. Lindall worked various jobs until he found one he really enjoyed plumbing. This led to starting his own business in plumbing, including heating and oil delivery. Lindell owned Weymouth Oil in Clinton for more than 6 decades. In 2015, after his death, the company was sold to Augusta Fuel Company.
He worked until he was 85, then continued in a limited capacity until he was 91. He loved what he did, and was very talented at it.
